Catholic Education Week Leadership Eucharist Dinner

Recently, three staff members received awards during the Leadership Eucharist Dinner as a part of Catholic Education Week. Ms Fiona McRae received the Spirit of Education Inspiring Faith Award, and Deacon Mark Kelly and Ms Nicole Vanatta were recognised for 25 Years of Service to Catholic Education. Ms Lisa Harkin commented, “It is wonderful see our Marist-Sion College staff recognised for their contribution to Catholic education. One of our founding fathers, Theodore Ratisbonne wrote, ‘I want you to have hearts as big as the world. The heart expands into the flame of love and this flame must set other flames alight.’ These quality teachers have ignited a love of learning in our students and enabled them to achieve great things.”

Former student, Lucy (Class of 2021) was awarded the Elizabeth Hunt Scholarship, a scholarship providing support to students undertaking a Bachelor of Education or a Bachelor of Teaching at Australian Catholic University. Brydie (Year 11) was one of six students from across Australia to receive the Father James Wall Bursary Leadership Achievement Award. Lucy and Brydie have embraced opportunities at Marist-Sion College and value learning for life.

Congratulations to all award recipients!
