How confidence and leadership qualities are developed

Marist-Sion provides a nurturing environment in which students can readily take on challenges. In this atmosphere students will develop the confidence needed to succeed both at school and beyond.

At each stage of schooling students are presented with opportunities for leadership, success and challenge with a view to build self confidence. They are also supported when they discover opportunities themselves.

Students are encouraged to take on the responsibilities of leadership. Positions are available as House Captains and Colour Captains of Liturgy and Celebration, Justice, Academic Diligence, Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Sports and Games. Within the Houses, year level peers elect students to representative roles. Student Support groups include the S.R.C., Peer Mediators, Peer Support Leaders and Mentors.

Marist-Sion students are taught to value themselves and their community through meeting people involved in external programmes and initiatives.

In the formation of our student leaders we aim to promote a strong social conscience and sense of justice.
